What are pit bulls?

I chose to do my blog page on pit bulls because I have a female American Pit bull terrier as a pet and I would like to know a little more about pit bulls. Another reason is that many people seem to be afraid of her when I'm walking her because they only hear horror stories of pit bull attacks on humans, therefore I would like to display fun facts about pit bulls and prove that they are very gentle and loving dogs.

Body features:

Very muscular

Short hair

Squarish shape heads with defined jaws

Weight ranges from approximately 35 to 85 lbs.

Floppy ears that are sometimes cut short on preference by the owner

Personality and Other Characteristics:

• Very lovable and craves a lot of attention from their humans
• Very intelligent
• Confident and outgoing
• Requires constant care and attention to keep them healthy and to prevent unwanted aggressiveness
• Energetic and very playful
• Loves all humans especially children, but needs to always be supervised by adults because their high energy level may be too much for a child to handle.
• Usually don't get along with other dogs because they tend to become aggressive, however there is a small percentage that are animal friendly.
